Junkless › Stop political and marketing texts
Stop political and marketing texts on iPhone
One donation or one checkout form can put your number on dozens of lists. Campaign texts, fundraising appeals and promotions then arrive from new numbers every day. Junkless moves them out of your way automatically.
Coming soon to the App StoreWhy STOP doesn't stop them
Replying STOP only removes you from the list of that one sender. Campaigns and marketers rotate numbers and share or rent lists, so the same kind of message keeps coming from somewhere new. Replying also confirms that your number is active.
Filtering works on the content instead: donation requests, polling links, voting reminders from unknown numbers and heavy promotions are recognised no matter which number sends them.
Promotions versus spam
Not every marketing text is unwanted. Junkless separates offers from shops you signed up to into the Promotions filter in Messages, and sends aggressive, unsolicited promotions to Junk. Order confirmations, shipping updates and receipts go to Transactions, so you still find them in one tap.
Make it strict or gentle
- Filter a phrase: a rule for a candidate's name or a campaign keyword catches every variation, in upper or lower case.
- Filter a pattern: many mass texts end with the same opt-out line; one rule catches them all.
- Allow a sender: keep your local council or your favourite shop even if it looks promotional.
- Under attack mode: during election week or a text bombing, send everything from unknown numbers to Junk for 10 minutes to 7 days.
Set it up in two minutes
- Choose Junkless in Settings › Apps › Messages › Unknown & Spam › SMS Filtering.
- Open a campaign text you received, copy a phrase that repeats in every message, and add it as a rule in Junkless.
- Paste one of those texts into Test a message to confirm it would now be filtered.
- Check Messages › Filters › Promotions and Junk once a week for the first few days, then let it run.
Messages that already arrived stay where they are. From the next text on, the filter does the work, even when the sender uses a number it has never used before.
Private, on your phone
Political opinions are sensitive. Junkless reads messages only on your device to sort them and never uploads their content, so nobody learns which campaigns text you or which ones you filter.
Share it with your family
Parents and grandparents often receive the most campaign and scam texts. With a Family plan, you and up to five family members share Pro through Apple Family Sharing, each with their own iPhone and Apple Account.
